Ingredients

  • 4, 3/4 inch thick pork chops
  • 1 tsp. oil
  • 4 Tbsp. brown sugar
  • 1/4 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp. nutmeg
  • 4 Tbsp. butter
  • 2 peeled, cored, sliced Granny Smith apples
  • 3 Tbsp. pecans *

Notes

* Optional

Method

  • Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Brush chops lightly with oil and place in hot skillet. Cook 5-6 minutes turning occasionally or until done. Remove Chops to a warm plate.
  • In a small bowl, combine brown sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg. Add butter to skillet, and stir in brown sugar mixture and apples. Replace Chops to skillet. Cover and cook until apples are just tender.*** and sauce is slightly thickened.
  • Serve chops with Apples and sauce spooned over top. Sprinkle with pecans.

*** Tenderness of apples are as you desire, I like my apples firm but my daughter likes her apples more "mushy" so I take a few apples slices out early for myself.

Very quick, easy and tasty. Both of my girls really enjoyed this. They are 12 and 9 and picky eaters like most kids. They said this recipe was a keeper. I thought the meat was a little tough. We had corn on the side and they used some of the sauce for that as well.

AMAZING! I happened to have everything on hand today to make this, my kids ate all of it and asked for seconds! Even the hubby kept commenting on how good it was! SUPER fast and easy too! Thanks for this awesome dish!

This was very quick and easy to make. With the addition of the apples it's sure to be something that your children will happily eat.

The hubs and I weren't fans. I admit, I may have overcooked the pork because I was a little afraid of undercooking it. The apples were good, but the pork was tough.

This is very tasty! Kind of like a bit of apple pie filling on your pork chop! My family loved it and we will definitely make this one again. We didn't have any pecans though. Might try that next time. We added 1/4 cup of apple cider vinegar at the time we added the apples. Great!

This is DELICIOUS! And so very easy to make. I served it with one of those pre-bagged salads (the strawberry almond one) and it was wonderful. I love the flavor the sugar takes on as it caramelizes. I'm so excited to have found this recipe.
