

Apple Skewers

Ingredients
- 4 medium peeled and quartered apples
- 4 tsp. sugar
- 1 1/4 tsp. ground cinnamon
Method
- If grilling the apples, coat grill rack with nonstick cooking spray before starting the grill, Thread apples on four metal or soaked wooden skewers. Lightly spray with nonstick cooking spray. Combine sugar and cinnamon; sprinkle over apples.
- Grill, covered, over medium heat or broil 4 in. from the heat for 6-8 minutes or until golden. Turn; cook 8-10 minutes longer or until golden and tender. Serve warm.

My family will place things in the oven at 200 degrees to keep it warm until everything else we are serving is ready.(Assuming the oven isn't already being used.) It helps. I haven't tried it with the apples yet, so I don't know if that will help any, but it's just a thought. I like the idea of having them with Lowfat Turkey Burgers! Great idea!

This definitely was an interesting way to serve apples. I used Fiji apples (my fave!) and made this with the Lowfat Cajun Turkey Burgers to keep it healthy for dinner. Yum. Too bad it was hard to keep the apples warm, as they cooled down instantly after we took them off the skewers to serve.
